In a world where horses are monarchs, beetles play music, and birds share stories, Midnight Melody transports us to a papyrus field where two friends sit under the moonlight and create music with an ancient instrument.
This artwork is made using linoleum printmaking. Printmaking forces the artist to think in reverse. The lines carved into the linoleum block are the white lines you see on the paper. Using a press machine, pressure transfers the image from the block onto the paper. A reversed image results on the paper.
